Jungles
Jungles are dense, complex tropical forests that are home to a unique and diverse range of species. Jungles are important and highly valuable ecosystems. They are an integral part of global biodiversity and are critical to the reduction of global climate change. Jungles provide many essential services, including habitat for wildlife, clean water and air, and carbon sequestration (storage). They are also important for the production of food and medicines, among other uses. Humans rely on jungles for a variety of services, ranging from recreation to livelihood. Thus, preserving and conserving jungles is of great importance to the environment and human societies.
