Forests
Forests are complex ecosystems consisting of plants, animals, soils and environmental factors that share resources and interact with one another. They are of immense importance to both human and animal life, providing clean air and water, food, medicines and natural beauty. Forests also play a crucial role in regulating global climate, reducing the impact of extreme weather events, providing habitats for wildlife, and helping to mitigate climate change. In addition, they are important sources of income for communities, providing them with raw materials, jobs and recreation. Sustainable management of forests is therefore essential for preserving their essential ecological functions and for the well-being of current and future generations.
