Ecology of Amphibians

Amphibians are a keystone species in many ecosystems. They are important consumers of invertebrates and also provide food for larger animals. They are also important indicators of environmental health, helping to identify changes in water quality and the presence of pollutants. As amphibians live part of their life in both terrestrial and aquatic habitats, they are particularly sensitive to changes in both habitats and can help identify threats to their environment. The conservation of amphibian species is essential for the protection of biodiversity and the health of the planet.
