Cloud Forests

Cloud forests are tropical and subtropical forests located in the mountainous regions of tropical and subtropical regions where clouds almost constantly cover the sky. These forests are very rich in biodiversity, and are home to many rare and endemic plants and animals. They are valuable ecosystems, as they play an important role in local water cycles, maintain regional climate stability, and help to store carbon. In addition, they provide people with a variety of products and services, such as timber and fuelwood, water, and food. As they are highly threatened by climate change, deforestation, and overexploitation, it is important to conserve and sustainably manage them.
