Animal Genetics
Animal genetics is the study of inherited characteristics in animals. It is used to understand the inheritance of particular traits, and to identify genetic diseases. Animal genetics research also has important applications in medicine, agriculture, and wildlife conservation. In medicine, animal genetic research can be used to develop methods to diagnose and treat genetic diseases in humans, as well as to identify potential treatments for hereditary conditions. In agriculture, animal genetic research can be used to improve crop yields and create new varieties of livestock that are more productive or have higher quality meat. Finally, in wildlife conservation, animal genetic research can help to improve the health of endangered species, as well as to understand the genetic differences between different populations of species.
