Volcanic Rocks

Volcanic rocks are formed when molten magma comes in contact with Earth’s surface and solidifies. They are made up of various minerals and contain a wide range of chemical and physical characteristics which can vary depending on the type of eruption and cooling conditions. Volcanic rocks are important as they can provide clues regarding the composition of Earth’s mantle as well as evidence of past volcanic activity. They can also be used in construction, industrial processes and as a source of minerals. Volcanic rocks have been used in agriculture for centuries and are known for their ability to improve soil fertility and water retention.
