Synoptic Climatology

Synoptic Climatology is the scientific study of large-scale weather patterns and their associated characteristics. It is essential to understanding extreme weather events, seasonal forecasting, and short-term climate variability. Synoptic Climatology is used in many applications, such as predicting the potential for extreme weather events and flooding, monitoring environmental changes, forecasting agricultural yields, and determining optimal shipping routes. It is also used to assess the health of an environment and the effects of climate change. By understanding the intricate link between large-scale weather systems and their localized impacts, Synoptic Climatology provides powerful insights into our changing climate.
