Sustainable Soil Science
Sustainable soil science is the study of maintaining and improving soil quality for the benefit of both humans and the environment. It calls for the development of innovative practices and approaches to ensure that soil is healthy and productive over the long-term. This can involve conservation of soil resources, improving access to soil health data, and encouraging better management and use of organic materials. Sustainable soil science has become increasingly important as we look to deal with climate change, promote food security, and reduce land degradation. It can also be used to improve public health by minimizing contamination of soil and groundwater, and reducing atmospheric pollution.
