Dendroclimatology

Dendroclimatology is the science that studies the connection between the growth of trees and climate variability over time. It is used to study the past climate, and to measure and understand the current climate trends. By looking at tree growth and tree rings, dendroclimatologists can gain insight into changes in temperature, precipitation, and other aspects of climate that happened in the past. The study of dendroclimatology is essential to understanding and predicting the impact of climate change on our environment.
