Climatology

Climatology is the scientific study of climate and its variations over time. It is concerned with understanding weather patterns and the effects of natural and human-caused climate change. It examines the Earth's climate records over time, the interaction of physical components of the Earth's climate system, and predicts climate change and its impacts. Climatological findings can have a wide range of uses, from helping inform decision-making for climate-related policy decisions to informing agricultural practices. By understanding the impacts of climate change, climatologists can help communities and governments prepare for, reduce, and mitigate harmful effects.
