Bioclimatology

Bioclimatology is the science of understanding how climate affects the distribution, structure and function of the earth's ecosystems and their organisms. It is a branch of physical geography that studies the terrestrial climate system from the perspective of life within that system. Bioclimatology has implications for many areas such as agriculture, forestry, public health, and sustainable development. By better understanding the impacts of the climate on our ecosystems, it is possible to mitigate the effects of climate change and manage the resources in a sustainable manner.
