Water Toxicity
Water toxicity is a form of water pollution that occurs when toxins like industrial chemicals, heavy metals, and other hazardous materials become dissolved or suspended in water. It can also occur when water contains bacteria and parasites that are harmful to humans and other living things. Water toxicity can be damaging to human health, aquatic ecosystems, and the environment at large. It can cause a range of health effects, including gastrointestinal disease, skin irritation, and neurological damage. Water toxicity can also have significant economic costs, as contaminated water sources can lead to the contamination of food and drinking supplies. To reduce the impact of water toxicity, governments, organizations, and individuals must take steps to monitor water quality, reduce pollution sources, and improve wastewater treatment infrastructure.
