Sustainable Forestry

Sustainable forestry is an approach to managing forests in order to conserve their natural resources and biodiversity while meeting the needs of society. This involves sustainable timber harvest and other forest management practices that are designed to maintain the health and productivity of forests over time. Through sustainable forestry, forest resources can continue to provide clean air, clean water, timber products, protection from floods, and recreational opportunities. This approach also helps to conserve and improve the economic, social, and environmental benefits of forests, benefiting both humans and wildlife. By ensuring that our forests are managed sustainably, we can ensure that the benefits provided by forests are available for generations to come.
