Stormwater Management and Low Impact Development
Stormwater management and low impact development (LID) are two important strategies for controlling and managing stormwater runoff. Stormwater management helps to prevent flooding by collecting, storing, and releasing stormwater in a controlled manner, while LID reduces runoff contamination and damage to the environment by using natural or man-made features to absorb, filter, and clean stormwater. Both strategies improve water quality, reduce flooding risks, and protect aquatic ecosystems, as well as human health. These methods are being increasingly used in many urban areas, as they can help reduce the impacts of climate change and the effects of urbanization.
