Sources of Air Pollution
Air pollution is the release of harmful gases and particulates into the atmosphere. These pollutants can originate from both natural sources, such as dust storms and volcanic eruptions, or anthropogenic sources, such as motor vehicles, power plants, and industrial activities. Pollutants can have a wide variety of effects on health, the natural environment, and the climate. Sources of air pollution must be identified and monitored in order to prevent and reduce air pollution, leading to improved air quality and better health outcomes. In addition to being a human health hazard, air pollution can cause serious damage to the environment and to climate change. As the world grapples with climate change, understanding and controlling air pollution sources has become even more important.
