Soil Science
Soil Science is a scientific field that studies the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils, and the dynamics of land use and soil management. It is important in providing sustainable and resilient agricultural production, managing land resources, and sustaining healthy ecosystems. Soil Science provides a basis for understanding the effects of land use changes, soil conservation, and the management of soil resources, and for developing approaches for preserving soil for use on agricultural land. Soil Science is also important for understanding the impact of climate change on soil properties. Soil scientists study the properties of soils, such as their nutrient content, chemical composition, and physical structure, in order to develop management strategies to maintain soil quality and support soil fertility. Soil Science also incorporates the study of land use, land cover, and land planning, in order to understand how land use and land cover affect soil quality and management.
