Hydrochemistry

Hydrochemistry is the branch of science which studies the chemical composition of water. It is important for understanding the physical and chemical properties of water sources and aquifers, and for monitoring changes in water quality. Its uses include water source protection for drinking water and managing wastewater, identifying and managing water contamination, and studying the effects of acid rain and other environmental pollutants. Hydrochemistry is also crucial for understanding the hydrologic cycle, which is important for environmental sustainability, climate change research, irrigation, and other uses.
