Applied Climatology

Applied climatology is the study of how climate can be used to inform decisions and solve problems. It involves both the analysis of climate data and modeling to assess potential impacts of climate change. This field of study has seen a recent surge in interest due to the increasing impacts of climate change. Applied climatology helps to understand the potential effects of climate change, and the significance of its application to infrastructure, agriculture, health and welfare, as well as other natural resources. Applied climatology also provides vital information for decision-making in areas such as public policy, conservation, and resource management. By using climatological principles and techniques, scientists can identify risk factors associated with climatic events, helping to develop strategies to reduce their negative impacts, and better prepare communities for any climate-related crisis.
