Retrieval Practice
Retrieval practice is a learning technique used in educational settings to help students recall and retain information. It involves using recall activities, such as tests, to access information that has been previously learned. Through this exercise, the goal is to strengthen the neural pathways associated with memory. This approach has also been found to improve overall retention of course material, and to help students learn not just for immediate recall, but for long-term mastery of the material. Retrieval practice is a useful supplementary technique for students of all ages and abilities, allowing them to strengthen their memory and learn more effectively.
