Redundancy
in software Redundancy in software refers to redundant or duplicate elements of the system and is used to increase the reliability of the software. Redundancy can be implemented in the form of data backups, error-handling mechanisms, or multiple copies of the same software. By using redundant features, if one feature in the system fails, there is still a chance for the software to continue operating. Additionally, redundancy increases the software’s fault tolerance, meaning that it can recover from possible errors. Redundancy is an important tool for ensuring that software continues to operate in the event of errors and is used in many industries, from banking and finance, to healthcare and transportation.
