Equivalence
Point The equivalence point is an important concept in chemical titrations and is the point where an acid and a base have reacted in exactly the same number of moles. At the equivalence point, the solution has a specific pH level, which indicates the complete neutralization of the acid and the base. Its significance lies in the fact that it can be used as a measure for determining the concentrations of acidic or basic solutions and can also be used to calculate the molarity of either the acid or the base. Equivalence point is useful in a variety of applications, such as in the determination of the acid-base balance in the body and in the titration of drugs and other substances.
