Venous Leg Ulcers
Venous leg ulcers are open sores that are typically caused by poor circulation of blood in the lower extremities. They can be painful and can lead to infection if not treated properly. They are most common in older individuals and those who are obese. Treatment often involves compression bandaging, regular cleaning of the wound and antibiotics. In more severe cases, surgery may be recommended. Treatment of venous leg ulcers is important, as the condition can lead to further complications if left untreated.
