Esophageal Manometry

Esophageal manometry is a test used to measure the pressure and movement of the esophagus. It helps determine the strength of the muscles and sphincters in the esophagus, and whether they are working properly. This test can be used to diagnose and evaluate a variety of gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, achalasia, scleroderma, and spasm of the esophagus. Additional uses include pre-operative evaluation of hiatal hernia, and assessment of swallowing function. Esophageal manometry is a safe and noninvasive test which can provide quick and accurate results to help diagnose and treat various gastrointestinal diseases.
