Duodenal Ulcers
A duodenal ulcer is an open sore that develops in the lining of the duodenum, which is the first part of the small intestine. Duodenal ulcers are a common digestive disorder that affect millions of people worldwide. They are typically caused by a bacterium called Helicobacter pylori, or H. pylori, which is often acquired through contaminated food or water. Symptoms of duodenal ulcers can include pain in the abdominal area, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and loss of appetite. Treatment for duodenal ulcers usually involves antibiotics and medications for reducing stomach acid. Early diagnosis and treatment can help to prevent further irritation, infection, and complications.
