Tropical Doctor

Tropical Doctor is a medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that affect populations in the tropics, as well as providing medical care and advice to those travelling to tropical areas. It is essential to the health of those living in or travelling to tropical countries, as there are diseases and parasites that are endemic to those regions and not present elsewhere. Tropical Doctors specialize in diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, leishmaniasis, and schistosomiasis, as well as rabies, snake bite, and food and waterborne illnesses. They are also responsible for providing vaccinations and preventive treatments, such as antimalarial drugs, to limit the spread of infectious diseases. They are trained to diagnose, manage and prevent a variety of diseases and work collaboratively with local health care professionals and communities to ensure optimal patient care.
