Tropical Disease
Tropical disease is an umbrella term for a wide range of illnesses that are commonly encountered in tropical and subtropical regions. These diseases span a variety of symptoms and can cause significant morbidity and mortality in affected populations. Commonly encountered tropical diseases include malaria, dengue fever, cholera, yellow fever, leptospirosis, schistosomiasis, and sleeping sickness. Tropical diseases are largely preventable through proper hygiene, sanitation, and vector control measures, as well as early detection and treatment. As climate change and globalization continue to alter disease transmission patterns, tropical diseases are becoming increasingly important global health issues.
