Alzheimers Disease
Alzheimer's Disease is a progressive, degenerative brain disorder that causes a gradual loss of memory and other cognitive functions. It is the most common cause of dementia among older adults, and is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. Symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease may include difficulty speaking, thinking, and remembering, mood changes, and difficulty with day-to-day activities. Currently, there is no cure for Alzheimer’s, but there are treatments and lifestyle changes that can help slow its progression. Early diagnosis and intervention can help maximize quality of life for people living with Alzheimer’s and those who care for them.
