Transgenic Yeast

Transgenic yeast are strains of yeast that have been genetically modified with genes from other organisms. They are used in industries like brewing and baking, as well as in research, to produce a variety of proteins, drugs, and other molecules. Transgenic yeast offer several advantages in comparison to traditional methods of production, such as being able to produce products in higher yields, in a shorter amount of time, and at a lower cost. Additionally, transgenic yeast can produce molecules that are difficult to produce using traditional methods. Transgenic yeast are used to create drugs for treating cancer, cholesterol, diabetes and other diseases. They are also crucial in the production of alternative fuels, industrial enzymes, and vitamins and other dietary supplements.
