Transgenic Technology

Transgenic technology is a form of genetic engineering in which an organism's genes are altered in order to introduce new traits or characteristics. It enables scientists to take a gene from one organism and introduce it into another organism, providing a way to transfer beneficial traits between species. Transgenic technology has revolutionized agriculture, medicine and other areas of science and is used to improve crop yield, develop disease-resistant plants and animals, and create new treatments for medical conditions. It can also be used to create genetically-modified organisms (GMOs) that are able to produce proteins and other molecules that can provide new treatments and other products of use. Transgenic technology has the potential to make important advances in many different areas of science, and has already been beneficial in many aspects of life.
