Transgenic Mouse Models

A transgenic mouse is a laboratory mouse that has been genetically modified through the addition of an external gene. These modifications can be done through the introduction of DNA into the mouse's genome. Transgenic mouse models are of significant importance in medical research, as they allow scientists to study the effects of human diseases and treatments on living creatures and can be used to test potential new treatments and cures. Transgenic mice are also used in the development and testing of new drugs as well as the study of gene functions. Furthermore, transgenic mice can be used to study specific genetic disorders and the effects of various drugs and environmental exposures on a genetic level.
