Plant Transformation
Plant transformation is a technique used to introduce new genetic material into a plant to induce desired traits. It can be used to introduce traits such as improved resistance to pests and disease, increased yield, and improved nutritional content. Plants transformed in this way are known as transgenic or genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The technique is widely used in crop production as a means to increase food production and promote sustainability. The development of transgenic crops is often controversial and has been the subject of much debate.
