Human Cloning
Human cloning is the process of creating an identical genetic copy of an existing or previously existing individual. It is a type of asexual reproduction, meaning that the product of cloning is genetically identical to the original individual. The potential applications of human cloning, from therapeutic to reproductive, have long been debated, although so far no country has legalized reproductive human cloning. There are currently no approved medical applications of human cloning, and ethical concerns remain. Cloning could, however, be useful in medical therapies, such as the replacement of lost or damaged tissue, organ transplants and therapeutic cloning, which could be used to develop treatments for various diseases.
