GMO

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) are living organisms created by inserting genes from other species into their DNA. These genes are chosen for their desirable traits and features, such as increased resistance to disease, herbicide, and pest, or for enhanced nutrient content. Through this technology, plants and animals are bred in a laboratory setting to improve their traits and provide valuable resources to people around the world. GMO products are used in a variety of industries, including agriculture, food, animal feed, and industrial products. While they can have beneficial effects, GMO products have been subject to stringent safety testing to ensure they are safe for human and animal consumption. When chosen and produced responsibly, GMOs are an important tool to improve global food security and economic stability.
