Cloning Vector

A cloning vector is a DNA molecule used as a vehicle to deliver foreign genetic material into another cell, where it can be propagated and expressed. It is used in molecular biology for the cloning of genes and other genetic elements. Cloning vectors are used in biotechnology and medicine to express, manipulate, and replicate DNA sequences in cells. They are also important tools for studying gene expression, gene regulation, and gene mutagenesis.
