Osteoblastoma

Osteoblastoma is a rare type of bone tumor. It usually affects the long bones of the arms and legs, but can also occur in other bones. Osteoblastoma growth is generally slow and benign; however, it can cause destruction of normal bone and spread to other areas of the body. Diagnosis is usually made using imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans. Treatment options typically include surgery and radiation therapy. Osteoblastomas are important to recognize and treat because, although rare, they can cause disabling bone destruction if left untreated.
