Lupus Erythematosus
Lupus erythematosus is an autoimmune disorder that can cause inflammation and organ damage. This condition is caused by the body's own immune system attacking healthy cells and tissues. Symptoms may include joint pain, skin rashes, fatigue, chest pain, headaches, and fever. Lupus erythematosus can be difficult to diagnose and can affect different organs in the body. Treatment typically involves powerful medications to suppress the immune system. With successful treatment, people living with Lupus erythematosus can often lead a full and active life.
