Hyperoxia

Hyperoxia is a medical condition in which the body is exposed to a level of oxygen in the blood, tissue, and cells that is higher than normal. High levels of oxygen in the body can be caused by a number of medical treatments and diagnostics including the use of oxygen masks and supplemental oxygen. Hyperoxia can have both short-term and long-term effects on the body, including inflammation and oxidative damage, which can lead to severe tissue injury. Hyperoxia also has a range of clinical applications, such as asphyxia, acute lung injury, and ischemic stroke. In addition, hyperoxia can also be used to treat certain types of cancers. Hyperoxia is a critical diagnosis and therapeutic tool for medical practitioners and its importance should not be underestimated.
