Cytopathology
Cytopathology is the study of cell changes caused by disease. It is a valuable tool used in diagnosing diseases, often arising from cells which have been taken from an individual's body via biopsy or other sampling technique. It can be used to diagnose diseases including cancer, as well as infections such as HPV, hepatitis, and HIV/AIDS. By analyzing the shape, size, and structure of cells, as well as their level of activity, cytopathology can provide an essential insight into the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of conditions.
