Apotosis
Apoptosis is a form of programmed cell death that is essential for the normal physiological functioning of organisms. It is responsible for maintaining homeostasis (stable internal environment) by controlling the number and size of cells within an organism. Apoptosis has many important roles in development, tissue maintenance, and disease prevention. In cancer, it can act as a tumor suppressor by eliminating pre-malignant and malignant cells, and in autoimmune diseases, it can prevent tissue damage. Apoptosis can also be used therapeutically to target cancer cells and treat autoimmune diseases.
