Hypothyroidism Symptoms

Hypothyroidism is a medical condition in which the thyroid gland produces too little of the hormone thyroxine. Symptoms of hypothyroidism can vary, but may include fatigue, weight gain, constipation, depression, and cold intolerance. Early diagnosis and treatment of hypothyroidism is essential, as it can lead to worsening symptoms and health complications, including heart disease and anemia. Treatment for hypothyroidism typically involves hormone replacement therapy with levothyroxine.
