Endoscopic Ultrasound-guided Biopsy

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided biopsy (EUS-Bx) is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat cancer and other diseases in the digestive system. It combines the technology of ultrasound imaging, an endoscope, and a biopsy needle to obtain a tissue sample from deep inside the body. The tissue sample is then examined for diagnosis or for the removal of benign and cancerous tumors. This procedure is especially useful in diagnosing diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and other digestive organs, as it helps to accurately locate suspicious areas and obtain tissue samples for examination. Additionally, EUS-Bx can also be used to assess the spread of cancer and direct precise treatments.
