BRAF Mutation
BRAF (v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1) mutation is a genetic variation that is found in some cancers, such as melanoma and CRC (colorectal cancer). This mutation can cause the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells, resulting in tumor formation and progression. BRAF mutation is an important indicator of poor prognosis, as it is associated with a more aggressive tumor type. Scientists are developing treatments targeting BRAF, such as BRAF inhibitors, to specifically inhibit the mutated gene and help reduce tumor growth. BRAF mutation has emerged as a key target in oncology, as it plays an important role in cancer development and progression.
