Venous Stasis

Venous stasis is a common medical condition in which blood flow in the veins is impaired, leading to swelling and discomfort in the affected areas. The most common cause of venous stasis is deep vein thrombosis, which may be caused by a variety of underlying medical conditions such as obesity, diabetes, and low physical activity. Treatment often includes lifestyle modifications such as avoiding sitting or standing for long periods, regular exercise, and leg elevation. Compression therapy and medication may also be used to manage the condition. Venous stasis can lead to a variety of health issues, including skin ulcers and pain, and it is essential to seek medical attention to prevent progression.
