Thrombolysis
Thrombolysis is a medical procedure that uses clot breaking medicines (thrombolytics) to dissolve a blood clot that is blocking one of the blood vessels. This procedure is used to restore or improve blood flow to a damaged organ or tissue in the body. It is especially helpful in the treatment of stroke and heart attack. Thrombolysis can also be used to treat deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and other clot-related medical problems. It is considered to be an important medical procedure as it can save lives and improve outcomes by restoring blood flow to the affected areas. The potential benefits of thrombolysis must be weighed against its risk of serious complications, such as bleeding.
