Hypercoagulability
Hypercoagulability is a condition in which the blood tends to clot more readily than normal. It can cause serious medical issues, such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. Hypercoagulability can be caused by acquired and inherited disorders, as well as certain medications or medical procedures. It is usually diagnosed through a blood test or other tests such as the thrombin time test. Treatment involves lifestyle modifications, anticoagulant drugs, and other treatments. Diagnosing and treating hypercoagulability can help reduce the risk of serious blood clots and other medical issues.
