Homeostatic Mechanisms

Homeostatic mechanisms are processes by which the body self-regulates its internal environment in order to maintain a steady state. They are important in controlling temperature, water balance, pH, and other variables in the body that must remain within certain levels. Homeostatic mechanisms help the body respond to changes in the environment and keep the organism functioning properly. Homeostatic mechanisms are essential for the survival of many organisms and can be found in both plants and animals. Additionally, they are important in disease prevention and management, as they help the body maintain the optimal internal environment needed to keep the organism healthy.
