Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis is a condition in which a blood clot forms in one or more of the cerebral venous sinuses, the large veins in the brain. This can lead to a build-up of pressure in the brain, symptoms of stroke, and, if left untreated, permanent brain injury. Treatment is aimed at relieving the pressure in the brain and preventing further brain damage. Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis is a rare condition, but its recognition and early treatment is essential for a good outcome.
