Blood Coagulation
Blood coagulation is a crucial process of forming a clot to prevent an excessive loss of blood. In this process, proteins in the blood interact to form a fibrin mesh, trapping blood cells and forming a clot. Blood clotting is an important defense mechanism that helps prevent excessive blood loss due to trauma or injury, and is also necessary for normal blood vessel repair. Blood clotting is regulated by a complex system of blood proteins, platelets, and other molecules, and any kind of imbalances in the coagulation system can cause serious health implications. The proper functioning of the coagulation system is essential for proper body functioning and is crucial for proper hemostasis.
