Glycoproteomics

Glycoproteomics is a relatively new field of research that focuses on the study of sugar-attached proteins, known as glycoproteins. This field is important because glycoproteins play a key role in various biological processes such as cell signalling, cell adhesion, and the transport of molecules. By studying glycoproteins, researchers can gain insights into how diseases develop and how they can be treated, as well as shed light on the complex interactions between cells, tissues, and organs, and how they affect development and homeostasis. Glycoproteomics also allows researchers to better understand how changes in the environment, such as climate change, can affect cells, tissues, and organisms.
