Sports Safety
Sports safety is the practice of providing a safe and secure environment for participants during sports activities. The aim of sports safety is to minimize the risk of injury and promote safe, healthy sports participation. Sports safety involves a range of physical and psychological measures such as the use of proper protective gear, understanding and following rules, and adopting an appropriate code of conduct. It also involves the identification and appropriate management of potential risks. Effective sports safety can help reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and sudden cardiac death, as well as psychological issues such as anxiety and depression, which are sometimes associated with sports participation.
